Também se fala de Patrick Stewart no filme:Kate Bosworth Cast as Lois Lane?
December 31, 2004
Superman-V is reporting the rumor that Kate Bosworth has been cast as Lois Lane in Bryan Singer's Superman. There's some unconfirmed additional casting bits as well:
Reliable sources inform us that Kate Bosworth has won the role of Daily Planet's feisty yet incident prone reporter. After many young actresses screentested alongside Bradon Routh - with Elisha Cuthbert, Claire Danes and Keri Russell all believed to have come close it was Bosworth who Singer decided on. Kate who recently starred in Beyond The Sea now joins an impressive looking cast believed to be Shaun Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen, Spacey as Lex Luthor and Brandon Routh as Superman.

Patrick Stewart on X-Men 3 & Superman
January 2, 2005
TrekWeb reports that SpaceView magazine has a new interview with Patrick Stewart who talked about returning as Professor Charles Xavier in X-Men 3:
Everyone, my colleagues and I, we are all very pleased to be involved on this film. The filming would have to begin June 2005, because 20th Century Fox plans to release X-MEN 3 in July 2006. And it is not that simple to get all the cast together again. Unfortunately, Bryan Singer will not be involved this time, because he is directing the new SUPERMAN movie. And, as I said, is not certain that all the actors will be returning. But I am sure that Hugh Jackman will be back. He is such a crazy actor! I just saw him on stage in New York where he delivered such an extraordinary performance.
Stewart also addressed the rumor that Bryan Singer wants him to play Jor El in Superman:
I also heard these rumors, but so far Bryan did not ask me about it. I had recently a small heart surgery - nothing serious - and while I was at the hospital, Bryan called me. We spoke a long time - yet he did not ask me. But since I am already in two big franchises, why not also in a third or a fourth?

Afinal a Kate Bosworth ainda está em negociações, sempre há esperanças (de ser outra pessoa é claro!
).
Mais 2 nomes a juntar ao elenco:

Mais 2 nomes a juntar ao elenco:
Director Bryan Singer has cast James Marsden, who played Cyclops in Singer's two "X-Men" movies, and Hugh Laurie, who stars in the Singer-executive produced Fox series House, in Warner Bros. Pictures' Superman.
The Hollywood Reporter says Marsden will play Lois Lane's love interest, Richard White. Laurie is in final talks to play Perry White, editor in chief of the Daily Planet. The two characters are related, though the studio declined comment on if they are father and son.
Brandon Routh is set to play Clark Kent/Superman, while Kevin Spacey, who won a supporting actor Oscar for his performance in Singer's The Usual Suspects, is set to play Lex Luthor. Kate Bosworth is in negotiations to play Lois Lane.

Tentative title: Superman Returns
Release Date: June 30, 2006
Studio: Warner Bros. Pictures
Director: Bryan Singer
Screenwriter: Michael Dougherty, Dan Harris
Cast:
Superman/Clark Kent: Brandon Routh
Lois Lane: Kate Bosworth
Lex Luthor: Kevin Spacey
Perry White: Hugh Laurie
Richard White: James Marsden
Jimmy Olsen: Sam Huntington
Martha Kent: Eva Marie Saint
Plot Summary: "He'll begin in his late 20s. He lost his powers in Superman II and now he has the powers back. But something has happened because he's been away for a long time."
"We're taking off from the first two Superman films with Christopher Reeve. We use his history and then move on with big twists and great special effects.
"We're not going to do the origin story again."
Bryan Singer reveals that the movie will feature a return of Superman of some sorts, and not a complete reimagining. He also went on to reveal that there may be references to the Christopher Reeve movies and maybe even scenes from the other movies. "It puts the first films in a kind of vague history. So what it doesn't do is tread over the 1978 Richard Donner film, it doesn't tread over 'Smallville.' It elaborates on the existence of Superman in the world in a history. He's out of the culture and then he returns."

Atenção, tributo a Marlon Brando no filme:

Marlon Brando is Jor-El in Superman
Source: Latino Review March 9, 2005
Latino Review has confirmed that director Bryan Singer plans on using stock footage of Marlon Brando that was originally shot by Superman director Richard Donner for Superman Returns. The character in the new film is expected to have a very minor role.
Brando and Christopher Reeve were once filmed interacting with one another to be used in Superman II, but due to a lawsuit against the Salkinds for a percentage of the sequel, the scenes were deleted and re-shot using the mother instead.
Brandon Routh stars in the title role. Warner Bros. will release the film in the summer of 2006. Brando passed away on July 1, 2004.
