Avatar: The Last Airbender (2010) - M. Night Shyamalan

Apesar de ter o mesmo nome do próximo projecto de Cameron isto não tem nada a ver.

Baseado na série televisiva da Nickelodoen, Shyamalan assinou para 3 filmes:

According to Variety, M. Night Shyamalan and Paramount are planning their own "Avatar" project, based on the popular Nickelodoen kids TV series.

The filmmaker has signed a three-picture deal with Paramount's MTV Films and Nick Movies to adapt the animated children's series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" for the big screen. He will write, direct and produce the potential kids franchise. The film version will be live-action.

Nick TV's "Avatar" follows the adventures of the successor to a long line of Avatars who must put aside his irresponsible ways and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water, Earth and Air nations. The show was created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

The trade adds that Paramount confirmed the deal with Shyamalan just hours after 20th Century Fox announced it has given the green light to James Cameron's Avatar.

Although they may have the same name, the two projects have nothing to do with each other in terms of storylines. Cameron's is a sci-fi action-adventure that he's been working on for 11 years.

Paramount said it has registered the name of its project with the Motion Picture Association of America. A Fox rep said, "We own the movie title 'Avatar.' There won't be another film called 'Avatar' coming from anyplace."

Dá na Tv Cabo, para quem tem funtastic life (claro), e vi o primeiro episódio. Não achei nada de extraordinário. Mas os putos americanos gostam muito da série.

Já agora, para quando um filme sobre o Dragon Ball!!?? Essa sim dava uma grande produção cinematográfica, principalmente se pegassem pela história da saga Z.

estive a ver mas mesmo assim não fiquei muito convencido. Aquilo quase me fez lembrar os Power Rangers. Lol Mas acredito que haja muito quem goste e toda a gente tem direito a ver os filmes de que gosta, não é?

Sim. Este filme não é exemplo para nada! Achei curioso e decidi colocá-lo aqui.

Acho que o Dragon Ball tem uma história que, bem adaptada, seria uma boa aposta cinematográfica. Ainda por cima, é uma série que tem milhões de fãs em todo o mundo. Quanto aos efeitos, principalmente em termos de lutas, o estilo utilizado no derradeiro combate entre o Neo eo Agente Smith, fez-me lembrar muito o estilo das lutas da série. Acho que seria uma excelnte aposta.

Arranjei a 1ª e 2ª season desta série por curiosidade e digo-vos que está bastante boa.

A qualidade da animação é bastante boa, a utilização das artes marciais está muito bem usada e tem também uma boa dose de comédia.

Não é um Dragon Ball mas recomendo vivamente.

HOLLYWOOD, CA – April 16, 2008 – Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies have greenlit the live-action epic adventure “M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender,” which will launch over the Independence Day weekend in 2010, opening on Friday, July 2, 2010.

Shyamalan, the visionary creator of the Oscar®-nominated “The Sixth Sense,” “Signs” and the upcoming “The Happening,” will direct and produce the epic action-adventure based on a script that he penned. Joining him as producers are Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, who produced the blockbuster “Indiana Jones” and “Jurassic Park” film franchises, Sam Mercer (“The Sixth Sense,” “The Happening”) and Scott Aversano (“Failure to Launch,” “The School of Rock”). Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film is set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire.

The Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war against the other three nations. The film’s hero, the reluctant young Aang, is the “Last Airbender” - the Avatar who, according to prophecy, has the ability to manipulate all of the elements and bring all the nations together. Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world.

"M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender” promises to be a summer movie for the ages, combining the imagination and visual canvas of the “Lord of the Rings” saga with the action and spectacle of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”

Comecei por curiosidade em relação ao filme, a ver o primeiro episódio da série de animação pela net, e já papei a primeira época toda. Já só faltam duas, Earth and Fire

Devo dizer que já não via uma série de animação há imensos anos. Principalmente uma que me entusiasmasse. A história está muito bem feita. Faz-me lembrar um pouco o estilo das Misteriosas Cidades de Ouro. O humor está muito bem encaixado. Há evolução nos personagens ao longo da história. Tem continuidade sem encher muitos chouriços, e conseguiram criar um mundo de fantasia muito próprio e curioso.

Agora ainda fiquei com mais curiosidade pelo filme, e já percebo os elementos no trailer
