O Into the Wild foi o filme desta lista toda que bateu com mais força "cá dentro". Não foi o que mais gostei, mas foi aquele com que mais me identifiquei, quer em termos de motivações do personagem (apesar de se tratar de um miúdo ainda sem qualquer noção sobre a vida), quer em termos de mensagem final (a ideia de que a felicidade, assente naquele tipo de liberdade, e por mais "bonita" que seja, tem um preço).

Isto para além das paisagens belíssimas e da banda-sonora perfeitamente enquadrada no registo intimista, solitário e algo melancólico do filme, sempre a contrapor uma noção da perda de algo importante aos ganhos marginais daquela viagem ao mesmo tempo iniciática e terminal.

Deixo a letra do tema "Society":
